Rule 85. The wording of the old rules Nos.83 and 111 is ambiguous, the new rule is obviously a very necessary one.
Rule 93. Is new and is the same as that which has been introduced with good effect into the Police Department, the large number of Indian Officers renders it desirable.
Rules 109 and 110. Are only rule 113 split up and made more clear. It is desirable that a suspended officer should not quit the precincts of the prison till his case is decided.
Rule 279 subsec.3. It is necessary to specify the amount of oakum to be picked.
The latter part of this rule is new, it is taken from the practice at home and would prove a deterrent punishment here.
Rule 281. Some additional offences have been enumerated, the want of special provision for which has been felt.
Rule 282. Provision has been made for special punishment, which is in accordance with the practice at home, for the offences specified in subsections 2,3,4, and 5. Special powers for the restraint of a very violent or turbulent prisoner is needed.
